GJS Dillon has completed the sale of the former Francis of Malvern property at 275 Worcester Road, Malvern, to Asper Property Group.
Asper Property Group, which also acquired The Row in Droitwich through GJS Dillon, plans to keep the building in commercial use. It will convert the premises into flexible, good-quality units aimed at small to medium sized businesses looking to establish or grow in Malvern.
A new future for a well-known Malvern address
Francis of Malvern is a familiar name on Worcester Road, which is no surprise with almost 100 years of trading in the area. They are still very active in Malvern, and the consolidation into one shop is due to the high demand for online purchases. The sale gives the property a clear new purpose at a time when smaller, adaptable commercial space can be hard to find locally.
Start-ups, independent traders and growing local firms often struggle to find premises that balance quality, flexibility and cost, and the conversion is intended to meet that need.
Commitment to commercial space
The decision to retain the building as commercial space will be welcomed locally. The property will remain part of Malvern’s working economy, bringing businesses and activity to the area rather than being lost to alternative uses.
The approach follows the successful launch recently of The Row in Droitwich, giving the group experience of managing multi-occupier commercial property for smaller businesses.
